Remind 101

Please sign up for Remind 101 to get important message and notifications. I do not wish to make the sign up accessible to anyone on the internet, so if you have misplaced your sign up information, please ask for another reminder in the agenda.

First Week Update

Well, we had a great start up to school. The Duck Run on Friday was a great way to end off the week. I am extremely proud of the grade three students for their participation and their behaviour on Friday- way to go! I hope this gained their interest in the sport of Cross Country running for the rest of the season.

A few things to note for this week:

  • The office will NOT be accepting IOU's for hot lunch this year. You have two payment options. You can pre-pay for single or multiple coupons in the office OR you can send money with your child that morning. There will be NO hot lunches ordered after 9:30, so ensure your child has their money for the beginning of the day.
  • Mrs. Kitchen will be away on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for a conference in Saskatoon on RTI. Mrs. Burback will be in substitute teaching.
  • Those runners that signed up for the Cross Country season will be off to the Cherrydale Run for Peace on Tuesday. Note that students must attend practice Monday in order to race on Tuesday.
  • We still have a few students without indoor shoes- please send these as soon as possible, as it is a Victoria School expectation that students wear indoor shoes at all times when in the school building.
  • I expect that home reading and agendas are returned to school on a daily basis- we are doing well with this so far- KEEP IT UP GRADE THREE FAMILIES!

Victoria School Behaviour Matrix

Every student will have a copy of this pasted into their agenda. Please take a minute to review it with your child so that everyone is familiar with the expectations at Victoria School.

WELCOME Back

Welcome back everyone! I am looking forward to the start of the school year with the students tomorrow. I hope the goodie bag and poem is a welcome reminder to the students that school will be fun- they will learn lots and can count on me to help them along the way! Here is to a good year!
WELCOME
Welcome to your classroom!
I am so glad that you are here!
I have filled a bag with goodies,
To help describe our year.

The pencil represents the learning
That each day you will do.
The sharpener will keep you ready,
When your pencil is no longer new.

The eraser is to let you know
That it’s ok to make mistakes.
We will correct them and learn from them,
No matter what it takes!

The “Smarties” show that I know you are smart,
And really special too.
The “Lifesavers” are a reminder,
That I am here for you

The “Starbursts” are to tell you
That you are a star to me,
School can be tough at times,
But also fun, you’ll see.
