Battleship

Today we met again with our friends from Saskatoon. We were playing battleship. At first, we thought we were going to lose! They sank more ships that we did in the beginning.  But.... in the end we came back and won the game, sinking more ships then they did. We thought it was a lot of fun to play against these kids. We were surprised that we won the game! We also chatted with them on todaysmeet. We have really enjoyed getting to know the grade three class from Saskatoon.

Digital Farming

We just finished our first digital farming experience with a class from Saskatoon. When we started our Facetime call we didn't know where they were. They gave us five clues about where they were from and we had to research to figure it out. The clues we got were:
They live on the prairies.
They have a river going through their city.
They are a city.
They have an airport.
They shine.

We guessed they were from Sasaktoon and we were right!

We gave them the clues about Kamsack:

Our town is called the Garden of Saskatchewan.
Our population is over 1000 people.
We live close to a provincial park.
We have two First Nations reserves close to our town.
We live close to Manitoba border.

They needed a few more clues, so we told them:

Our mayor's name is Rod Gardner
Our towns name starts with a K and ends with a K.
We live about an hour from Yorkton.
We live about 3 hours from Regina.

Then they were able to figure out that we live in Kamsack!

We are going to be playing a game with them next week on the 12th! What a fun experience.

Garden Work Bee

Thanks to the overwhelming support of the school and community of Kamsack (over 60 volunteers) we had an amazing, successful work bee on June 1. Check out a couple of pictures of the progress made on the garden.
